May Subway Art

Can you believe that May is just around the corner? Time is flying by.
Things that I love about May are:

  1. sunshine, flowers... the weather is warmer.
  2. cinco de mayo, a fantastic reason to have a party and mexican food. See last 2 years celebration here.
  3. Mother's Day. I love my Mom. I love my Mother-in-Law.
Enjoy this fun Subway art...
I couldn't decide on colors, but here is what I came up with:
Cherry Lime Margarita download here.

. . .
Blue Raspberry Margarita here.
(Can you tell that I am not a drinker... I don't think there is such a thing as blue raspberry margarita... but it matched the colors. lol.)

All Subway art here...!

Remember I am making these for each month.

weekend shoping

the last two weekends we ended up at a mall.
we had fun both times.

First we went to City Creek...
We'd been wanting to stop by City Creek for a while, and finally made some time for it. If you haven't gone, it is a must. I honestly felt like we were on a vacation, and not in little ol' Utah. The atmosphere was busy, fun and I loved the combo of the outdoor feeling, mixed with the mall feeling. The landscaping was so pretty, and the shops were fantastic. We looked at the shops and grabbed some dinner at the eatery. I went to this place called Big Sal's; it's a salad bar place, and it was perfect, and exactly what I wanted. Cruz went to a Greek place called Mykons; he got souvlaki which was grilled chicken skewers with a salad... oh, man was that chicken good. I had to get me a skewer. ;) Joel... he went with something he knew he liked... chick-fil-a. We then gathered at a table, ate, relaxed and just enjoyed the busy atmosphere. We need to go back, it was a great place!!

The following weekend we were with lex, and randomly decided to check out riverwoods. Not that we haven't been there before... but it sounded good. There was actually more people hanging around than I've seen in a long time. I was loving there strings of lights. They've really spruced the place up. We just looked around, and took pics. Good times! Oh, and we got some yummy candles from Bath and Body Works... they had a great sale for 2 candles only $20. We are loving this sent right now!! It is seriously yummy. It makes me excited for warm summer nights.

earth day 2012

over the weekend we celebrated EARTH DAY!
we planted flowers in our little pot out in front of our house.
we planted some herbs in our smaller pot in the backyard.
we ate yummy green salad.
we enjoyed the sunshine.

we hope our little plants don't die.
it took us forever to pick them out at the garden center.
we got too many flowers, but put them all in our one pot anyway.

i am really excited to have these fresh herbs.
we have already been enjoying the cilantro, and it is yummy.

happy earth day!

jj's first birthday...

We celebrated JJ's birthday last weekend, but his actually birthday is TODAY.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJ!!
The best thing about going to a one-year-old's birthday is watching them eat cake.
 JJ, was a pro.

Nichole's friend made this adorable cake. Everyone said it was super yummy and very moist.
(I skiped cake, because I am not having sugar right now.)

oh, boy! It was cute to see David help, he was so excited for JJ's birthday.

First you smash it a little...

and then dig right in.

Happy Birthday little JJ. We love you, and hope you are having a great birthday.
Remember when JJ was just born... look at how small, here.

Easter 2012...

I seriously love Easter. I love the spring flowers, and the taste of sunshine. It is such a great time to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. This year we taught the 6-7 year olds in primary about the resurrection of Christ, and they were really fascinated by the whole giant stone that covered to tomb.

We celebrated an Easter with my family on Saturday with a yummy breakfast, and a egg hunt. :) I forgot to bring my camera, but I did take pictures with my brother's camera. I am waiting for him to send them to me so I can post them. :)

But we also celebrated at our home a little bit too.
I love to color eggs. I love to see what people think of.
Kristi and Jake both were very creative. We had an eyeball egg, a grenade egg, a stop and go egg, and Kristi broke out the glitter... all super festive.

 I love masking out letters!
Camie made Cruz a unicorn egg with glitter as requested. ;)
All in all turning these little white eggs in to colorful creations turned out to be a success.
Little Easter treats for our friends!
We didn't have baskets this year, we had bags.
Since Cruz and I aren't eating candy and treats, I had to get creative with the stuff to go in his Easter bag. It was a challenge to think of what small thing to put inside. I came up with socks and chapsticks. LOL. Oh, and to help fill up the bad... a blue power aid. He liked it.
We took my parents some festive easter bags as well. We got creative with the note... and matched it with some of the treats that were inside.
I finally found a table for our hallway! I plan to display holiday decor and such there.
It's a great place for my subway art.
I plan to have a different subway art for each month.
Get yours here!

hope you had a happy easter!

I would love to know what you think!
I am planning to make more in the future.
So, if you have a saying you'd like to have on yours let me know... and I'll pick some to use for next time.
