Kennecott Copper Mine

We went to Kennecott Copper Mine a few weeks back... and I forgot all about it, until today. So even though we went May18... before Memorial Day... I am just now getting to blogging about it. :) Such is life. To be honest, I am impressed that I am blogging at all right now... work has been crazy busy and overly stressful. You would think I would want nothing to do with the computer after these LONG days.
(Yes, days I work 17 hours that is very true.)

Kennecott had free passes a few weeks ago, maybe they are still available.
We felt like it was worth the free trip, and Cruz had never been there... and the last time I went was in 4th grade or something. We were amazed at how large the trucks were, we were like 3 year olds when it came to the giant tire. All and all good times.

Afterwards we ate at applebees. I have to say THANK YOU to who ever was the person that turned our camera into the lost and found. Thanks for being honest, and not taking our little baby. We didn't even notice that we left it until the next day.

Memorial Day Weekend = Vegas trip.

Memorial Day weekend was a perfect chance to go to Vegas before it get's TOO HOT.
It was perfect weather. We stayed at the Luxor Hotel. We loved the pool!

I LOVE the dispay at the bellagio gardens! One of my most favorite things about Vegas.

We went to see the KA, and it was amazing! I think those shows are always good. I love all the creativity that goes into the performance.
We also at at Max Brenner chocolate restaurant. So good. So rich.
Visited the wax museum. LOL, good times.

family get-a-way

Sometimes we just need to take time out from the busy life and relax!
This was a very over due Ashby Family get-a-way.
We rented this beautiful home up in Heber. It was quiet and the perfect weekend get-a-way place.

Not far from the home, was a cute little pond/park. A good place to take the kid-os to get out of the house for a bit.

during our stay we had 4 batmans... (Joe, David, JJ, Tyler!) We also had 3 supermans... (David, JJ, Kevin) Oh, and one supergirl... (emma)

The little kids were loving their goggles they got for swimming... they wanted to wear them all the time. So, Grandpa joined them.

all and all it was a hit. Thanks Lisa for finding a great place to stay, and making it all happen.

cinco de mayo 2012

For the last few years we have celebrated cinco de mayo...
Why? Because we love to have a party, and who doesn't love Mexican food?
This was our invite. We kept the food simple this year, and picked up some cafe rio.

We did find this festive banner. It was a simple way to turn our gathering into a FIESTA.

Even though Cruz and I are on a healthy bug right now we had to have chips and salsa for our guests only.

 Love the sombrero.

We also made some margaritas, and other fun mocktails.

How cute are Ash and Jason? Wish they lived closer, because they are fun.
Ashley brought this yummy looking tres leches cake! She is awesome like that.

 Cafe Rio was yummy.
Can't wait for next year!

What did you do for cinco de mayo?

Mother's Day Tag/Card

May is flying by! I am loving the sunshine.
Can you believe that Mother's day is on Sunday! Crazy I tell you. I am excited that this year my family has decided to get together at a cabin for the weekend. I don't think that originally we had planned it to be for mother's day, it just happened to be this weekend.

My Mom is the best, and I love that we have a day to celebrate her.
I haven't picked out a gift yet... I plan to go after work today. But I have a little card ready.

It's a simple card, but I figured that I could wright a little note on the back. :)

Want to use this as your Mother's Day card??
Download your own here.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms!
I hope you have a relaxing day.

Park City Get-A-Way

About one hour away from our home there is a cute little ski town... Park City and it is a great get-a-way any time of the year! For us we both have had busy schedules at work, and it's been a little stressful. So, it was a perfect time to take a break and just relax. So, last week we cashed in our hotel voucher we got last summer and got a little R&R. We had a great time sitting at the pools, hot-tubs, saunas, etc...!
This was one of our favorite spots the entire weekend.
Adult only pool. Great idea, and usually it was just us in there. Loved it.
And the whole time we only took a few boring pictures before we made the drive home. I was thinking the PC on the mountain behind us would show up a little better. ha ha. :)

A little vacation get-a-way is exactly what we both needed.
We also found a yummy little mexican place that had fantastic chicken salads.
We both got a pedicure... a first for the husband-o. I don't think that he was very impressed. But for me it was fantastic.
